Add some sparkle to the season's cheer with these artisanal borosilicate glass Christmas ornaments. These holiday baubles are handmade using Flamework, an analog technique which is still practiced by hand in village clusters of Firozabad, India by third generation glass maker families.
Requiring fewer tools and materials than other glass techniques, flameworking (also known as lampworking) uses a torch to melt and shape glass. Once the glass is heated to a molten state, it is formed by blowing and shaping with tools and hand movements. With flameworking, artisans can create everything from decorative beads to small hollow vessels, often in much smaller spaces than are required by typical glass blowing ovens.
Ready for gifting, this heirloom quality ornament is packaged in a beautiful handmade box with notes about the artisans and their process.
